Sanaa's Kitchen is a cultural and culinary initiative based in Amsterdam, approaching Egyptian cuisine as a living cultural practice. Founded by Hader, originally from Egypt, the project uses authentic recipes and food experiences to share Egyptian culture—exploring how food functions as a medium for storytelling, identity, and social connection, particularly within diasporic contexts where cultural practices are often fragmented or removed from their original settings.

The roots of Sanaa's Kitchen are intergenerational: Hader's grandfather once ran a small falafel corner shop, and many of the recipes cooked today come from her mother, Sanaa, and the women around her. What began as falafel pop-ups grew organically into breakfast gatherings, dinner residencies, and communal food experiences, all built around one idea—using Egyptian home cooking to bring strangers together around the table.

Deeply rooted in traditional Egyptian recipes, Hader adds her own touch while paying close attention to atmosphere—playlists that transport guests to Egypt, street-food plates and serving ware sourced directly from Cairo, all designed to make people feel like they've stepped into a moment, not just sat down for a meal. Her food draws on depth and balance: fresh herbs like dill and coriander, bright citrus, and the warmth of cumin and dried spices, echoing a wider love for Mediterranean flavor.

For Platine, expect flavor, generosity, and true hospitality: a generous Egyptian set menu from Wednesday to Saturday, closing out the week with an all-day Egyptian breakfast on Sunday.
